Individual dance artists can apply for the Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia’s Dance Centre
Wage period for their artistic work. The work must be carried out within the operational area of
the Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia. Applications must be personal.
The Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia generally grants support for a maximum of one month
of employment per artist, and the Dance Centre Wage is not awarded to the same applicant for
two consecutive years. In the application form, under “Requested amount”, applicants may
indicate their desired monthly salary (e.g. based on professional experience). The Centre follows
the collective agreement for the theatre sector.
For 2026, the Centre will award three Dance Centre Wages at different times and for different
purposes. This call includes two fixed-term employments as well as one open application period.
The final implementation of the Dance Centre Wage periods will depend on the Centre’s funding
being secured in early 2026.
- Dance Centre Wage period 1 will take place in connection with the Ostrobothnia Dances
festival from 23 February to 22 March 2026. The artist selected for the position will work on their own
artistic project. The employment includes a process showing or work-in-progress performance and
leading a workshop for professionals as part of the Ostrobothnia Dances programme. The festival
will be held from 18–21 March 2026. - Dance Centre Wage period 2 will take place in October–November 2026. The target group for
the artistic-pedagogical work is children and families with children. The position consists of both
artistic work and leading workshops as well as performance activities. The aim is to produce high-
quality cultural activities for both the Lätäkkö and Strålande children’s culture weeks. - Open Dance Centre Wage period will take place between 1 April and 31 July 2026. During the
employment, the artist will work on their own artistic project. The position also includes a process
showing or work-in-progress performance and the possibility of other performance activities, for
example in connection with summer events. The work may not be divided into shorter periods but
must be carried out as a continuous one-month employment.
