CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: OPEN 13 APRIL – 3 MAY 2026
APPLY TO JOIN THE CONTENT WORKING GROUP OF THE REGIONAL DANCE CENTRE OF OSTROBOTHNIA
The Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia offers its members the opportunity to participate in a content working group. We are seeking two members of Pohjanmaan tanssi ry to join the group for the 2026 operational year. The work is guided by the Executive Director, and production processes are managed by the Producer.
Compensation is paid as meeting fees. This is not an employment relationship or hourly-paid work. Participation does not constitute an employment contract with the Regional Dance Centre; it is a limited expert assignment.
As a member of the content working group, you will be responsible for the following content decisions:
Curation of professional classes for autumn 2026
possibly a few intensive courses (December 2026, May 2027)
Since autumn 2023, the Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia has organised Tuesday morning classes at the Attic stage of Vaasa City Theatre. The classes are open to both theatre employees (performers) and freelance performing artists. Classes are led by freelance dance professionals, and a wide range of dance styles has been represented. The working group decides on the content of the classes and thus also selects the teachers. This does not exclude the possibility of teaching yourself (separate teaching fee). Planning takes place during May.
Planning fee: €150
Regional salary grant application round in August
– reviewing applications and presenting them to the board
Individual dance artists may apply for a regional salary grant for their artistic work. The work must take place within the operational area of the Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia. The working group reviews the applications and presents them to the board of Pohjanmaan tanssi ry, which makes the final funding decisions. Members of the working group are therefore not eligible to apply for the grant for 2027.
Review fee: €250
Planning of Ostrobothnia Dances 2028 festival
– starting in autumn 2026
Planning for the Pohjanmaa Dances 2028 festival begins in autumn 2026. The process starts with idea meetings in August–September. During the rest of the year, the work continues mainly independently, including meetings with the Executive Director and Producer. The group’s task is to create a preliminary framework for the festival programme. Planning continues into 2027, if possible, with the same working group.
Planning fee: €350
Apply by sending a free-form message to:
eleni.pierides@pohjanmaantanssi.fi
Members of the working group are selected by the board, and the selections will also be announced at the association’s spring meeting on 7 May.
