hackIT!

Performing arts professional! Would you like to strengthen your digital skills and discover new ways to use technology in your artistic work? Or perhaps you are interested in digitalisation but don’t yet know where to begin?

hackIT! is an experimental project aimed at performing arts professionals that supports skills development and opens up new opportunities for collaboration and networking at the intersection of art and technology.

Within the project, you will get to experiment with using tools such as artificial intelligence, sensors and interactive software as artistic tools under the guidance of experienced mentors. We work in a safe and encouraging environment where participants’ diverse expertise builds shared learning and generates new perspectives.

TaikaBox organises four three-day seminars in different parts of Finland. During the seminars, you will hear inspiring examples of how technology can be used in art, try out practice-oriented working methods, and network with other professionals in the field. At the same time, you will receive information about the Artist-in-Business pilot collaborations that will be carried out in autumn 2026.

The seminars are free of charge. However, places are limited (20 per seminar), and you may register for only one seminar. They are primarily intended for performing arts professionals and graduating students entering the profession. Places are filled in order of registration. Registration is open until Sunday 8 March 2026 at 23:59. We will contact all registered participants after week 10. Before each seminar, we will organise an online meeting to go through the seminar content and travel arrangements, and to give participants the opportunity to get to know one another.

It is possible to participate in parts of the seminar content remotely. We are able to offer limited financial support for travel and accommodation costs for artists living in rural areas who participate in the seminars in Rovaniemi, Sotkamo and Vaasa. We aim to support as many participants as possible.
