Open call for dance and non-verbal films as part of the Moving North dance film screening

The open call is open from 10 February to 10 March 2026.
The Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia will present Nordic and local dance films on International Dance Day, 29 April 2026.
We are seeking short films based on dance or other movement-driven storytelling for the Moving North tour, led by Kati Kallio. The call is open to videos and films by artists working in Ostrobothnia or originating from the region, as well as to works with a strong connection to Ostrobothnia through their subject matter or themes. The final selections for the screening will be made by Kati Kallio.

Selection criteria
The work must be created by artists (screenwriter, director, choreographer) from or active in Ostrobothnia, or have a strong connection to the region.
The work must be an independent audiovisual piece. Documentation recordings will not be accepted.
Movement-based expression must play a central role alongside the audiovisual expression.
The maximum duration of the work is 20 minutes.
The person submitting the film must hold all distribution rights.
