Yizhou (Yvonne) Wang

Yizhou (Yvonne) Wang is a dance artist and educator from China, now based in Vaasa, Finland, whose artistic and pedagogical practice bridges Chinese and Western cultures. She holds a Master of Arts in Creative Arts in Education from the University of Exeter (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Pop Dance Performance from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music (China); earlier, she completed a six-year professional training in Chinese Classical and Folk Dance at the Affiliated Secondary School of Sichuan Vocational College of Art (China).

After early years as a performer and choreographer, she is now dedicated to teaching, working with children, youth, and adults. Her classes draw on Isadora Duncan techniques, Jazz, and Contemporary dance, and she integrates research-informed pedagogy from her postgraduate research to connect creativity, embodied awareness, and community. Her current interest centres on creative dance education.
