Membership

The Regional Dance Centre offers versatile support to dance professionals working in the region: you can apply for funding for dance works and events produced in the area; find new contacts and collaborators; exchange ideas and develop your work; participate in workshops and training sessions, and share and receive information.

Our members are based across Finland, but all have some kind of connection to the centre’s area of operation. Receiving support is conditional on the activity taking place in or being related to the centre’s region.

Membership benefits include free professional morning classes, workshops, access to various support forms – such as travel grants – opportunities for professional development and peer support, and help from the centre’s staff in facilitating freelance employment and artistic work. The centre also rents studio space at Funkkis for artistic work on Tuesdays and Thursdays for €5 per hour for members.

To become a member, contact and write a freely formulated application to the centre’s mangager Eleni Pierides: eleni.pierides@pohjanmaantanssi.fi

The membership fee for the years 2025 and 2026 is €20. Anyone who accepts the association’s purpose and rules may join as a member. Members are approved by the association’s board upon application. A member has the right to resign from the association by notifying the board or its chairperson in writing, or by announcing their resignation at a general meeting of the association to be recorded in the minutes. The board may expel a member from the association if the member has failed to pay their due membership fee, has otherwise neglected the obligations they committed to upon joining, has significantly harmed the association through their actions within or outside the association, or no longer meets the membership criteria stated in law or in the association’s rules.
