The Regional Dance Centre Network of Finland

The Regional Dance Centre Network of Finland is a national expert organization in dance, developing the structures, expressive power, and quality of the art form. It is also the largest and most diverse employer in the freelance dance sector. The network is a pioneer and developer in audience outreach, applied dance, community dance activities, and cultural wellbeing.

The network was established in 2004. It consists of six centres formed by seven background organizations: The Regional Dance Centre of Eastern Finland, The Central Finland Regional Dance Centre, The Western Finland Regional Dance Centre, The Pirkanmaa Regional Dance Centre, The Ostrobothnia Regional Dance Centre, as well as members of the northern network JoJo – Oulu Dance Centre and Routa Company in Kajaani.

The goals of the Regional Dance Centre Network are:

  • To promote equal access and availability of dance art regardless of place of residence or economic status
  • To increase diverse working opportunities for freelance dance artists within their field
  • To enhance collaboration and strengthen expertise regionally, nationally, and internationally
