Meet Elias Berglund
Published on
Elias Berglund is a dancer and dance artist from Vöyri, currently living in Helsinki. His pursuit of community, love for popular culture, and the confusion that life inevitably brings are present in all areas of his life. Perhaps that is precisely why he dances – in dance, there is room for everything!
Elias holds a professional degree in musical theatre from the Performing Arts School in Gothenburg and is currently completing his dance art studies at the Theatre Academy in Helsinki. He has worked with, among others, Alpo Aaltokoski, Carina Ahlskog, Kadence Neill, and Maria Saivosalmi.
Elias dreams of creating refreshing, entertaining, and thought-provoking dance art that asks: How can we find harmony amidst the hectic pace of the modern world? What is truly worthy of attention and care? He believes that through dance, we can approach those parts of ourselves that do not receive the love and attention they deserve.
While working in Vaasa, Elias plans to explore the concept of time through dance and handicraft – crochet and crafts, which he considers a kind of dance in themselves and one of his dearest hobbies.
During the Night of the Arts on August 15, Berglund will share his working process in Vaasa at Loftet at 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.
Carola Häggkvist sings:
An eternity / A brief second / When we become one / With time and space
You and I, dance.
You and I, thread.
You and I, time – and everyone who wishes to join.
