Residency exchange - Nordic regional (net)working

In the winter of 2024 and the spring season of 2025, the Regional Dance Centre in Ostrobothnia will organize residency exchanges between Umeå/Västerbotten and Vaasa/Ostrobothnia in collaboration with Danscentrum Norr and Dans i Västerbotten.
Dance artists based in Finland can apply for residencies in Umeå/Västerbotten, while artists based in Sweden can apply for residencies in Vaasa/Ostrobothnia. The residency can be applied for either individually or as a duo. During the residency, the selected artists are expected to give a workshop for dance professionals, take part in a networking event, and present their work in a work-in-progress showing in a public space – the performance venue will be decided in dialogue with the residency artists.
The residency offers:
– A two-week residency period in November 2024 / March 2025 / May 2025
– A working space, the type of which will be determined in dialogue with the residency artist
– Salary in accordance with the collective agreement – the residency artists will be employed by the Regional Dance Centre in Ostrobothnia while working in Umeå
– Accommodation during the residency period
– Travel expenses: round trip Vaasa–Umeå–Vaasa
Eligibility requirements:
– Membership in the Regional Dance Centre in Ostrobothnia
– Professional background in dance
