Tianna Valta and Riina Kalmi have been working with regional funding during May and June in our region.
On Saturday, June 14 at 14:00, we will get a glimpse into both artists’ ongoing processes through public showings at Maker’s Gallery in Vaasa.

We will begin with Riina Kalmi’s piece at 14:00, followed by a discussion. After that, we continue with Tianna Valta’s work — and there will also be time for conversation after this presentation.

Dance artist Riina Kalmi shares material she has gathered during her artistic process in her public presentation. The performance is an exploration of the relationship between bodily empathy and imagination.

“In my artistic presentation, I share my work and process. This work-in-progress performance brings together personal observations, insights, and hesitations about my relationship with other living beings.”

The performance combines video and dance.

Total duration approximately 20–30 minutes
Video and performance: Riina Kalmi
Music: Simonal Bie

Tianna Valta’s work demo Femorfos is a movement-based self-portrait in which the performer travels along a looping path while exploring her moving self. The piece invites the audience to influence the journey through associations.

Free admission, warmly welcome!
