Description

The dance piece All This Silent Space explores themes of loneliness and social distancing.

This solo work examines the importance and impact of touch, social interaction, and how the absence of these experiences affects our bodies. It asks how we can rebuild our connection to ourselves and to others by reactivating our bodies and senses.

Irish-Finnish dance artist Ailish Maher has lived in Vaasa since 2019. She graduated from The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance in 2014 and has since worked extensively with numerous choreographers and companies, both as a performer and a creative collaborator, as well as teaching internationally.

In her artistic work, Ailish is interested in collaborative practices that draw upon and explore emotional and physical communication between the body, movement, and performance.

The Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia organises the tour in collaboration with regional galleries and art spaces. The tour brings high-quality and accessible dance art to art and culture audiences across the region.
