Description
A captivating contemporary dance performance for the whole family is touring the Ostrobothnian region under the Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia.
This summer, Kesäkulkurit reach from root to crown!
Even trees speak — only in a different way than humans. The Kesäkulkurit of the Western Dance Centre attune their senses to create a shared language between people and trees.
Ways to listen to birches and understand the wisdom of maples are explored through dance, in contact with both trees and humans. What shapes do the echoes of tree growth create in human movement? The performance follows a life-long journey from seed to sapling to full-grown spruce.
Travelling together with the seedlings are dance artists Ira Tuppurainen and Emma Heinonen.
Kesäkulkurit offer a performance (about 15 minutes) and a movement workshop suitable for everyone (about 45 minutes). The workshops include simple exercises based on easy movements. Both the performance and workshop are open to all and free of charge.
Kesäkulkurit is the Western Dance Centre’s annual summer dance project, which this year also tours the regions of Ostrobothnia.
