Same Same but Different explores similarity and difference — how to be part of a community without losing one’s individuality. Focusing on a single truth and surrounding oneself with like-minded people creates an illusion of safety and a sense of power, but it also marks the end of dialogue. The flip side of collective euphoria is manipulation and the repetition of limited information, rather than an effort to broaden one’s understanding.
Kitka Kollektiivi is an artistic ensemble formed by three Helsinki-based dance professionals: Katriina Kantola, Iiris Raipala, and Elina Valtonen. In their work Same Same but Different, they examine how different choices, styles, and embodiments can coexist and communicate with one another.
Admission is free, and the performance is suitable for all ages.
