The contemporary dance association Valkea Kääpiö ry, based in Seinäjoki, presents two solo works by dance artists in Seinäjoki. Dancer and choreographer Johanna Ikola, originally from Seinäjoki, and dance artist Satu Rekola, who has long performed in Valkea Kääpiö ry’s productions, will premiere their new solo pieces at the Hugo Hall of the Kalevan Navetta Art and Culture Centre on Saturday, 11 February 2023 at 15:00.
Satu Rekola’s piece Dance About Dance explores themes and meanings that have become significant during her twenty-year career as a dancer. The work combines dance and spoken word.
Johanna Ikola’s Fantasy in B Minor is a music-based work in which the dancer’s body resonates as one voice within a musical orchestration.
The works are presented in a shared evening with a total duration of approximately 1.5 hours, including an intermission.
Tickets at the door: 15 € / 5 € for students and unemployed.
